Roundwood Notes 06.06.2017

ANNAMOE CENTRE

Annamoe storeyhouse will take place on Friday 9th June in The Annamoe Centre. Family fun bingo will be on Sunday 11th at 3pm in the centre.

STREET FEAST

Roundwood and District Community Council are organising a community Street Feast as part of national initiative on Sunday 11th June from 2pm to 4pm at Vartry Heights. The street feast is really just a great excuse to eat great food, celebrate your local community and meet new people who live near you. Lots of fun stuff planned so do come along. All members of the community are welcome.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The Roundwood & District Community Council  meeting will take place on Monday 12th June at 8.30pm in the parish centre.

 

PURE MILE WALK

A walk to the deserted village and the Kidrocks as part of the Pure Mile project will take place at 11am on Sunday 11th June, meeting at the Wicklow way junction at Lake Park. The walk will follow the Wicklow way and then veer off to take in some fantastic views of Lough Dan and Luggala valleys   If it’s a fine day why not bring the children and a picnic.

 

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

THE monthly Roundwood dance will take place in the parish hall, Roundwood on Friday 16th June with music by Jimmy Hogan. All are welcome to a great night of dancing.

 

WHIST

Next wait will be on tonight Wednesday 7th June in the Parish Centre.

 

PLANT WALK
As part of the Pure Mile initiative the residents have organised a walk with Wendy Nairn of Natural Environmental Consultant in the Baltynanima area exploring the wonderful flora in our hedgerows on Monday 19th June at 7pm. Please meet on the Lough Dan Road at the junction of the Wicklow Way with Lake Park. All welcome

CLOTHES RECYCLE 

A reminder that the final clothes recycle takes place on Friday 9th June. Any sort of clothing will be accepted regardless of condition along with shoes, bed linen, towels. You can drop bags into the school on Thursday 8th June between 6pm and 8pm.

ROUNDWOOD PARISH 

Roundwood Parish Cemetery Sunday/Pattern Sunday – will take place on Sunday 23rd July.  Please note the 11.30 am Mass will be Celebrated in Roundwood Cemetery.  This Mass will be offered for all interred in the Cemetery and will include a Blessing of the Graves.
Parishioners Contributions 2016 Acknowledgement letters/receipts are
available in the Parish Office if you require one.  Please contact Maureen
if you wish to collect yours or to have it sent by email.45 CARD GAME
A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community
Centre starting at a new time of 8.30pm. Teas served. All are welcome.

SET DANCING
Roundwood Set Dancing continues every Thursday night from 9pm til 11pm in
Kavanagh’s Lounge, Roundwood.  Music this month is Michael & Brian Admission remains at €5.  Beginners are always welcome along with anyone looking for a bit of exercise and a fun
night out.

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market is open from  at 12 noon until 5 pm every Sunday. Come for all your fresh bread, home baking, jams etc.  There will also be pictures, home crafts, plants and more. We look forward to seeing you all. New members always welcome.

ANGEL HEALING
Why not take 2 hours out of your week just for you and join us on
a Monday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Roundwood.  Here you will be
part of a group who know that looking after their well being is so
important.  You will learn how to meditate and be still. To connect to your
Angels and be supported by the wonderful people who have attended this
group in Roundwood for 13 years.  So if you would like more information you

Dublin.

LUNCH CLUB
A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 23rd June in The Roundwood Inn at 1.30.  To book yourself in please ring Betty Cullen on 2818703. All deposits for our trip to Kilkenny in September should be paid on this day.

MENS SHED
‘Hare remover’ needed for the garden. An unwelcome visitor has been rooting among the emerging seeds in the beds. DNA and forensics have indicated that the unwelcome intruder is a hare. A big welcome awaits you if you come along to the SHED on Tuesdays between 10 and 12 at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen. Not sure about the hare though!  Call 086 8650588 anytime for further information. Ironic that we are looking for ‘hare remover’ when some of the members could do with some ‘hair restorer’.

Intermediate Men’s Team Table Quiz on Saturday 10th June at 8 pm in Fanning’s Tochar House.  Looking forward to seeing you there.

Barn Dance 

Moneystown Barn Dance and BBQ in aid of Moneystown Community Centre will take place on Saturday 29th July in the community centre starting at 8.30 pm.  Music by the Three Bobs 10 to 12 and The Roamin Cadillacs, 12 to 2 and Disco afterwards.  Food served until 11.30pm.  Fully licensed.   Admission €20.  For further information contact 086 1504221.  Looking forward to seeing you all at what promises to be a great night.
