Reunion at Old School Roundwood

Saturday, 1st August 7.30pm – 9.30pm
The Roundwood and District Community Council are happy to extend an open invitation to all past pupils and teachers of the Old School in Roundwood to come and have a last look around the school on the evening of Saturday, 1st August.  The school has recently been sold into private ownership and we extend our thanks to the new owner for allowing us to host this final farewell.

In particular, we would like to welcome any past pupils and their families who are now living abroad to come back and share in this occasion, which will coincide with the Roundwood Street Festival (31st July to 2nd August), and promises to be a great social weekend in Roundwood village.

You’ll have the chance to have a wander around the old school building, see photos and other memorabilia from school days, catch up with other former pupils of the school, listen to some pupils and teachers speak about their recollections from their time at the school and just have a bit of craic.  We will also be gathering materials for inclusion in a time capsule which will, no doubt, be a source of great fascination for future generations!

There will be an ‘open school’ on Sunday 2nd August from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.  During this time, people will be welcome to come in and have a look around the school building.

We hope you can come from near and far to join us for this occasion.  Please spread the word as we are eager to ensure all former pupils and teachers know of the event.

More information about this event will be posted on Roundwood.ie facebook page and Roundwood.ie website
