Roundwood Notes ~ 7th of July

ROUNDWOOD FESTIVAL 18th to 20th of July

There are lots happening for children and all the family at the Roundwood Festival this year. Roundwood Fun Family Challenge looks set to kick-start events on Friday evening with an obstacle course that may not suit the fittest families in the area! A range of walks from the Parish Hall take place on Saturday morning which will be well finished in time to head over to the Upper Reservoir Dam at 5pm for the canoe race. Sunday 20th of July is competition time with something for everyone, including ‘make a monster’ from recycled materials, handwriting, junior photography and ‘bake and decorate’ a cupcake. Application forms are available in Roundwood Post Office, the Parish Hall and in other local outlets. To bring some extra interest to the village there is also a scarecrow competition. Prizes for the most imaginative scarecrows. For the bigger ‘kids’ there’s a soap box derby at 7pm on Sunday too. Lots more festival favourites will take place from 3pm Sunday including butter making, dog show, tug of war and lots, lots more. So start practicing and making folks, as there’s less than two weeks to go. Great music is on offer throughout the weekend with Roundwood Rhythm Roots and Revival with gigs to suit all tastes including a sit down concert in Roundwood Parish Hall with Vyvienne Long. For details of other events please check out, email or Facebook or roundwood music.
