Roundwood Community Games will hold their annual fundraising bag pack on Friday 15th & Saturday 16th of December in Dunnes Stores, Newtown. LOURDES PILGRIMAGE

There will be a pilgrimage to Lourdes from Roundwood in September, 2018.  Names and €200 deposit before 15thJanuary, 2018 to Susan at 087 6273032.  A pilgrimage to Knock will be on Divine Mercy Sunday 8thApril, 2018.  More on both pilgrimages at a later date.

DJOUCE LADIES GOLF

Djouce Ladies held their end of year lunch and prize giving recently.  The end of year prizes were awarded to Theresa Cowman Medals Final winner. The Eileen O’Connor Trophy went to Catherine Halligan. Golfer of the year went to Marian Molloy. Other prize winners were Kitty O’Neill, Ann Clarke, Nellie King, Una Fitzgerald, Margaret Donnelly, Pauline Pearson and Ann McGee.  The incoming Lady Captain for 2018 Marian Molloy paid tribute to outgoing Lady Captain, Bernadette Campion on her outstanding year as Captain.  A big thank you to the McGillicuddy family for keeping the course in wonderful condition all season.  It was a great year in Djouce and anyone interested in playing golf will be very welcome at the club.  Happy Christmas and New Year to one and all.

ALGARVE TRIP

There are a few places left on the 3 star Algarve Coast & Country trip will take place on the 27th February, 2018 for seven nights which will include visits to Silves, Lagos, Sagres & Faro.  The cost will be €429 per person sharing.  This will include breakfast and dinner in the Hotel Da Aldeia, Albufeira and day excursions and a one 10kg bag.  All monies to be paid ten weeks prior to departure.  For further information you can contact 087 6273032

CEILI DANCING LESSONS

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 to 9pm. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.

MORNING BADMINTON

Tuesday morning badminton is back in full swing from 9.30am – beginners always welcome. Some rackets are available

Roundwood Home Producers Market would like to wish all our customers.a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year. We will be closing at 5pm on Sunday 17th December. We will re-open On Sunday 25th March 2018   Opening times are 12-5pm every Sunday.

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB.

Nancy O Brien and Margaret Bolger played their cards right on Monday 27th November to take 1st place for North/South, 2nd Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien and 3rd Monica Brady and Gertie Fee.  In 1st place for East/West were Catherine McGillycuddy and Bridie Nolan, 2nd Mary Pierce and Kay Plunkett and 3rd Teresa Leahy and Marian Davies.  Monday 4th December saw Maura Gaskin and Kay Plunkett take 1st for North/South, 2nd Monica Brady and Nancy O Brien and 3rd Catherine McGillyuddy and Gaye McGettigan.  1st for East/West were Ger lenihan and Paddy OBrien, 2nd Rowena Brady and Judy Skates and 3rd Brid Clancy and Bridie Nolan.

002 BRIDGE CLUB.

Molly Byrne, Rachel Judd, June Digby and Monica Brady shared 1st/2nd for North/South on Friday 1st, 3rd were Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien.  1st for East/West were Maria Magee and Judy /Skates , 2nd Jim McNamara and Seamus Kennedy and 3rd Liz Belton and Phil Kenna.  On Friday 8th December June Digby and Seamus Kennedy were 1st for North/South, 2nd Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien and 3rd Nancy O Brien and Catherine McGillycuddy.  1st for Eat/West were Phil Kenna and Liz Belton, 2nd Kay Plunkett and Mary Murphy and 3rd Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger.  This Friday the 15th will be our last session before Christmas break so Christmas prizes will be presented, weather permitting we hope to see you all there

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

The monthly dance in Roundwood Parish Centre will take place on Friday 15th December 9pm – midnight. with music by The Wicklow man.  Refreshments served.

CALARY CANDLELIGHT CAROL SERVICE

Calary’s Candlelight Carol Service will take place on Sunday 17 December at 7.30 pm, followed by mulled wine and mince pies in the Church Room.  If you would like to join us, we would be delighted to welcome you. The collection from the Carol Service will be going to Simon, which helps young people tackle homelessness, and Tiglin, which assists people to deal with different forms of addiction. This is a great opportunity for us to help people less fortunate than ourselves.  If you are not able to make it then we would like to wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and we hope to see you again in 2018

MATHS LESSONS

Rebecca Delamere will be running Maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall.  Classes will be available for 1st to 6th year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with.  Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited.  For further information, please contact Rebecca on 0860650129 or RebeccaDelamereMathsLessons@outlook.ie.

WALKING CLUB

The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action every Wednesday evening meeting at 7pm at the Coach House car park. Everyone welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately 1 hour in and around Roundwood village

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 8, 10, 16 & 21.  There were six match winners, Nuala Doyle, Caroline Grant, Noelle Duffy, J.E.T.S., Marion O’Toole & Holly Swan.   Next week’s jackpot will be €18,400

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8 pm for the winter.  Teas served. All are welcome.

SET DANCING.

Set dancing continues on Thursday nights in KAVANAGH’s lounge with an addition of giving jive lessons at 8.15pm before our weekly session at no additional cost. Music this month by Michael and Brian.
