Community Council Open Day
Roundwood &District Community Council (RDCC) are holding an open information day in the Parish Hall on Saturday, 25th March from 2.00pm – 8:00pm.  Drop in to find out about what the Community Council does from Tidy Towns, local Men’s Shed, Senior Alert Scheme, Vartry Walks Project, Text Alert Scheme, and more.  There will also be an opportunity for you to fill in a survey to help us identify local community needs that need to be addressed.  

BINGO
Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday 19th March from 3pm.  Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend.  €5 per book and great raffle prizes.  Come along and enjoy

LUNCH CLUB
A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 31st March in The Coach House at 1.30.

KNOCK PILGRIMAGE
A pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday 23rd April leaving Laragh at 7.30a.m. and Roundwood at 8a.m. sharp.   Breakfast, dinner and bus is €60 per person.  All money to be paid in full before 1st April.  Names to Susan at 087 6273032 anytime a.s.a.p.  Mike Denver in concert in the Riverside Park Hotel in Enniscorthy on 23rd March.  Tickets are €30 from the hotel or ticketmaster.  Bus only €25.  Please call Susan on 087 6273032 for more information.

MORNING BADMINTON
Tuesday morning Badminton continues in the Sports Complex, Roundwood at 9.30am for approx 1 hour.  Why not drop the children up to school and come join us?  All are welcome.  No need to purchase a racket as there are a few available for our use

WESTPORT COUNTRY MUSIC BREAK
There will be a Country music break to Westport from the 22nd to the 27th October with day trips on some of the days.  It will be a six day tour with dinner, bed and breakfast and music every night with acts such as T.R. Dallas, Stuart Moyles & Mike Denver and many more.  The price will be €399 per person sharing with a €90 single room supplement.  Please contact Susan on 087 6273032 for more details.  Names should be in before 12th April.

MEN’S SHED
A welcome is always on the mat on Tuesdays between 10 and 12 p.m. Work is about to commence on the layout of the growing/gardening area kindly fenced off by our host Pat Carr. So if you have green fingers or would be willing to become involved, do come along.  Who knows what the fruits of the this team effort will be, but the building of friendships and the working and sharing is a great source of satisfaction and therapy.  The 121 (one to one) classes in Coláiste Chraobh Abhann in Kilcoole continue and the final two classes of the present lessons will be on Friday 10th and Friday 24th of this month between 10.15 and 12.30. A further series of classes will be facilitated by the school if the demand is there. The reaction to this offer has been received very positively in the SHED. But please remember that these tuition classes are not confined to SHED members. It should be mentioned that the social  interaction between the young Transition Year ‘student teachers’ and the mature learning adults is proving to be mutually rewarding. PURE MILE MEETING
Lots of interesting stuff on and planned for the Pure Mile near Roundwood this year which includes parts of Baltynanima, Ashtown Upper & Toghermore – over 2 miles! The next meeting for residents and anyone interested in the Pure Mile initiative will take place on Monday 20th of March at 7:30pm in Roundwood Parish Hall. All welcome

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB.
Taking 1st place for North/South on Monday 6th March were Nancy O Brien and Brid Clancy, 2nd John Loscher and Rory Egan joint 3rd/4th Derek Neilson, Kay Plunkett and Monica Brady and Bridie Nolan.    East/West winners were Phil Power and Catherine Halligan, 2nd Teresa Leahy and Paddy OBrien, 3rd Catherine McGillycuddy and Gertie Fee and 4th Maura Gaskin and Mary Pierce.  Triona, Gaye and all the bridge players from the Diamond and the 002 Bridge Club would like to offer their deepest sympathy to Margaret Byrne on the passing of her son Paul, May He Rest In Peace.

002 BRIDGE CLUB.
Friday the 10th March saw Seamus Kennedy and his partner Pauric Gleeson take 1st place from Noeleen Redmond and Margaret Bolger,3rd Alice Chadwick and Gayle Weldon.  Ger Lenihan and  Paddy O Brien had to settle for a share of 1st place with Marian Davis and Teresa Leahy for East/West and 3rd place went to Molly Byrne and Rachel Judd.  All members please note there will be no bridge on Friday 17th (St. Patricks Day) and Friday 24th March (Confirmation).  Bridge will resume as usual on Friday 31st.

LOTTO RESULTS
There was no jackpot winner in last weeks lotto draw.  The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 22 & 29.  There were seven match three winners John White, Matt Keelly, C & P Grant, Jack Byrne, k Doohan, Rita Synnott & Pat & Paul.  Next weeks jackpot will be €12,400

CEILI FIGURE DANCING
Any adults interesting in reliving their youth when we all learned to Ceili dance? There are Ceili dancing lessons in the Parish Hall in Roundwood on Wednesday nights starting at 8pm for an hour.  It’s learning to ceili dance in a fun and friendly manner (solo and group dances).  Just come along on the night

WHIST
Next whist will be on Wednesday 15th March in the Parish Centre.

ROUNDWOOD DANCE
The next Roundwood Dance will be on Friday 17th March with Music by The Wicklow Man reverting back to the old time of 9pm – 12 midnight–.  All are welcome.

45 CARD GAME
A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8.00pm. Teas served. All are welcome.

AN TOCHAR G.A.A
Ladies Training continues every  Friday at 7:45 sharp. and Tuesdays at 7 pm  All new and former players welcome.  U16 Girls Training continues on MOndays 8 – 9 pm and Fridays 7.30 – 8.30.  New an former Players welcome.  U14 Girls Training continues on Mondays 6.30 – 8 pm.  New players always welcome.  Cúl Camp Coaches – Do you want to Coach on our Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps 2017? Job Description: Coaches must be over 18 years old on the first day of the camp on 3rd July 2017. NOTE: Coaches must be a paid up member of their local GAA club. A Coaching Qualification, code of ethics, Garda Vetting and/or Coaching experience and/or evidence of voluntary coaching/work is mandatory in applying for this position. Closing Date for return of all Fully completed Coaches Application forms is Friday 7th April 2017. All selected coaches will be paid a weekly wage and put through the revenue system in accordance with Croke Park regulations. You may include any further information in support of your application if necessary – Note: Late applications will not be accepted or considered and canvassing will disqualify. Selected candidates will be contacted directly on or before Friday 14th April and given dates for mandatory two day training prior to commencement of Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps 2017. SET DANCING
Roundwood Set Dancing continues every Thursday night from 9pm til 11pm in Kavanagh’s Lounge, Roundwood.  Music this month is CD’s and we will have the O’Kane Family back playing for us again in March and then live music for the remainder of the year.    Admission remains at €5.  Beginners are always welcome along with anyone looking for a bit of exercise and a fun night out.  We are also doing a bit of jiving, waltzing and quick step before our weekly sessions starting at 8.15pm so anyone wanting to give that a go, is more than welcome.  No additional charge!

ANGEL HEALING
Why not take 2 hours out of your week just for you and join us on a Monday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Roundwood.  Here you will be part of a group who know that looking after their well being is so important.  You will learn how to meditate and be still. Want to get fit / fitter for 2017? Come take part in Jogging/running at the GAA pitch every Tuesday at 6:30pm, at the CoachHouse every Thursday at 7pm (running under lights in the village) and at 10am on Sundays at the Vartry Dam. Beginners and experienced runners all welcome. Set a goal of 10K for Easter or 5K for St Patricks Day, you decide!! We’ll help you reach your goal so layer up in warm comfy gear and come along.

PARISH HALL
