ROUNDWOOD NOTES 23 OCTOBER 2013

PURE MILE 2014

Following on the successes of the Vartry, Knockatemple and Oldtown Derralossary Pure Miles entries are being sought from areas to take part in the Pure Mile Competition 2014. The competition aims to foster a greater appreciation and awareness of our country roads by rewarding and acknowledging local community efforts. This is achieved through keeping a mile stretch of road and its adjacent area litter free, while carefully maintaining the ditches and any other natural or man made features. The closing date for the 2014 Pure Mile competition is the 20th of December 2013. If you are interested in finding out more please check out www.pureproject.ie  or call 0404 45547

Calling all would be, could be and should be SET DANCERS. We have been plodding away at our weekly set dancing sessions every Thursday night in Kavanagh’s Lounge but we now need your help. Thanks to the loyal support of our musicians, we still have live music every night with the exception of one night per month. However due to fall in numbers, we cannot continue without your support. If you think you would like to try this we are giving lessons from 8.30pm before the session starts at 9pm so please feel free to join us.
