THANKS TEAM U.S.A.

The Charlotte GAA team had a fantastic weekend in Roundwood. A great cead mile failte was given by all the host families on the teams arrival. Sunday proved to be a great tournament for the visitors. The day began with a parade by the four teams led by our own bagpiper Breda Salley and all teams faced their flags  for the playing of both national anthems. Charlotte played plenty of football which was their wish, against An Tochar and Clara, and ended up in a final against Shemaliers. The Sean Kavanagh trophy was presented to the Charlotte captain for the day, Aoife Kavanagh by Noel and Marie Kavanagh. A BBQ feast followed with singing, dancing and games until late. These Americans were full of energy and climbed the Spink on Monday. That evening Sheila and Elizabeth put them through their ceili and set dancing steps, while Mary and Brian  lead a sing along of songs which our visitors really enjoyed. A huge thank you to all the host families, to all who baked, served food and washed up, our BBQ chefs and Dan and Sean
