Tickets for Roundwood Variety Groups production of HONK The Ugly Duckling a fantastic musical by George Stiles and Anthony Drew go on sale today Wednesday 7th January.  This musical has something for young and old, it’s funny, it’s sad and it’s a show not to be missed  To book tickets you can go on to our website roundwoodvarietygroup.com choose your seats and then arrange payment by emailing info@roundwoodvariety.com or telephoning 086 2451829. When payment is made you will get a link which will allow you to print off your tickets. GAA HANDBALL 4 KIDS

Handball training for primary school children (6-12 year olds) will resume in the new year on Wednesday 7th January, 2015 in the Annamoe Community Centre from 6.30pm – 7.15pm.  There is a purpose built 40×20 handball court in the facility and a new glass backwall which was installed prior to Christmas.  For more information drop in on the evening or contact Oliver Donelan on 087 9040535

BINGO

Fun Bingo will take place on Sunday 11th January, 2015 in the Parish Hall at 3pm.  Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend.  €5 per book and great raffle prizes.  Come along and enjoy.

LUNCH CLUB

A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 16th January, 2015 in Woods and Byrne, Roundwood at 1.30pm.

002 BRIDGE CLUB

Happy New Year to all our friends in 002 Bridge Club.   Play resumes on Friday 9th January and 9.45am sharp.  No partner required, visitors always welcome, all grades catered for and takes place in Roundwood Community Hall.

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB

Results in final competition  for 2014 1st for North/South Mollie Byrne and Rachel Judd, 2nd  Brid Clancy and Monica Brady, 3rd Catherine Halligan and Gertie Fee.  Winners for East/West were Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien, 2nd Teresa Leahy and Marion Davis and 3rd Pamela Byrne and Clare Sally.   Top 3 places in the September/December league went to  Brid Clancy, Bridie Nolan and Kay Plunkett respectively.  Happy New Year to all and play resumes on Monday 12th January at 7.45pm sharp, visitors always welcome, no partner required and all grades catered for.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The next Roundwood & District Community Council meeting is on Monday the 12th of January in the Old School Roundwood at 8pm.

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

John flood will play n Moneystown community centre on Friday 9 January from 9.30pm until 12 midnight. Teas, door prizes, refreshments also available. Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing ,jive etc, Moneystown community centre would like to wish all our  customers a Happy New Year.

SHRINES OF FRANCE

A trip to the shrines of France will take place from 11th to 18th April, 2015 for seven nights, visiting Lourdes, Rocamadour, Nevers, Paris and Lisieux.  The total cost is €799 per person sharing.  Details are in the church porch.  Deposit of €200 should be paid as soon as possible and the balance of the oney before 1st February, 2015.  For more details please contact Susan O’Neill a t 0404 45276 after 8pm.

KILMACANOGUE   HISTORY   SOCIETY

Kilmacanogue History Society present:  Wicklow Birds – part of our natural heritage by Eric  Dempsey  In this visually stunning presentation Eric will focus on birds which can be found in County Wicklow, both native and migratory.  He will describe their different habitats, their breeding seasons and migrating movements, and their struggle to survive our harsh winters.  He will also tell us of some breeds which have become either less or more common in Wicklow over the past number of years, and offer some reasons for these changing patterns.  Eric Dempsey is a full-time writer, broadcaster, speaker and wildlife photographer, and a longtime member of the RTE Mooney Goes Wild team.  He is the author of several books on Irish birdlife, including  The Complete Field Guide to Ireland’s Birds,  and some of these books will be available for purchase on the night.  This meeting promises to be an uplifting start to a further season of great presentations to our Society – come and join us in The Glenview  Hotel,  Glen of the Downs at 8.30PM  on  Tuesday  13th January  Entry €3 (€2 for members) – all welcome  Website:       kilmacanoguehistorysociety.com

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s lounge every Thursday night with live music for the rest of this month and October with Michael and Brian. ANGEL HEALING
