Agricultural Show 2025

Roundwood Agricultural Show and Summer Street Party takes place on Sunday the 3rd of August  2025

The Roundwood Agricultural Show (formerly the Roundwood Street Festival) is a family fun event in the heart of the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. The festival has been growing in popularity over the last few years drawing crowds from further afield so there’s something for everyone with dancing, music sessions and side shows including origami for children and Japanese hand massage, Tug of War, family attractions and the downhill ball race to name but a few.

The show begins at 1:00pm and is followed by a Street Party at Byrne & Woods/Kavanagh’s Vartry House: 6:00pm Grand Raffle | 6:15pm ‘It’s a Load of Balls Race’ | 7:00pm Street Party
Featuring Roundwood Ukulele band, Linda Ferguson & friends and live music till late.

All are welcome to attend.

Note on Classes

  • Except for the Sheep classes – all entries will be taken between 12 noon and 1:30pm on the Show Day.
  • €3 per entry or 4 for a €10. There is no entry fee for children’s show classes.
  • All entries will be on display until 3:30pm. The Show Tent will then close for judging & reopen at 4pm.
  • Entrants can remove their entries from the Show tent from 4:30pm.

SHEEP CLASSES (No entries on the day)

  1. Best Pair Wicklow Cheviot Ewe Lambs
  2. Best Pair Suffolk/Cheviot Ewe Lambs
  3. Open Ewe Lamb – Any Breed
  4. Wicklow Cheviot Ram Lamb
  5. Age All Ireland Intermediate Young Shepherd or Shepherdess Championship 12- 16 years old Qualifier (For rules please see https://championships.irishshows.org/show-classes/341)
  6. Under 12 Young Shepherd
  7. Fancy Dress Lamb
  8. Best Butcher Lamb

Entries to be sent to Adam Sharkey at 087 3557548. Entries close on Thursday July 31st. There is a €5 entry fee per exhibit. Sheep must be penned by 11:30pm on the day. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each class. All sheep must be identified individually with appropriate ear tags and accompanied by all completed dispatch documentation.

KIDS ART & CRAFTS

  1. Art competition for primary school children. The theme is “Nature on the Farm” or “The Real Bug’s Life”. Paint, draw or sketch a picture along these themes. A4 Landscape format please.
  2. Make a bug of any type out of recycled materials. Anything goes, the only stipulation is it must be made out of recycled materials.
  3. Make a bookmarker.
  4. Best Dressed Hard Boiled Egg!
  5. Best Display of 6 named leaves

PAINTING

  1. The Fleetwood All Ireland Amateur Painting Championship Qualifier – painting to depict an ‘Agricultural or Rural setting’. (For rules please see https://championships.irishshows.org/show-classes/307)

VEGETABLES

  1. Best 6 tomatoes displayed on a plate
  2. Best head of cabbage
  3. Basket of 4 home grown salad veg
  4. Best 6 quality potatoes
  5. Funniest shaped vegetable (Children)

FLOWERS

  1. Best rose – 1 bloom, any variety, cut and displayed in a vase
  2. Best summer flower arrangement
  3. Hydrangea – 3 blooms in a vase

PHOTOGRAPHY

  1. The All Ireland Amateur Photography Championship Qualifier – Theme: “Natural Landscape of Ireland” (scenery) (See Rules https://championships.irishshows.org/show-classes/305)
  2. Best Agricultural subject in colour
  3. Best domestic or agricultural animal
  4. Best old farm building or machinery

Photographs may be of any format, i.e. digital or film, black and white or colour. Photographs must not be framed or mounted. Photographs must not be digitally enhanced but must have border. Size of photograph to be an A5 including border.

DOG SHOW

SCARECROW

No entry fee. Contact John on 086 822 5705‬ if you need straw! Erect your scarecrow by 12 noon on Show Day on the wooden fence at Aras an Tochar.
