CARER’S WEEK
Roundwood Pharmacy is holding a free draw for carers in support of National Carers Week 2014. It is to celebrate the work that family carers do looking after family members/friends etc. who are ill, frail, elderly or disabled. Details are on Roundwood Pharmacy’s Facebook page. PRESCHOOL ANNIVERSARY
The Roundwood Community Pre-school is celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion there will be a celebration at the Pre-School on Friday 20th June at 7pm. DAY TOUR
The Roundwood Active Retirement and Whist committee have organised a day tour on Thursday 10th July to Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park and a Liffey Cruise, passing the Four Courts and Customs House. NEW LOCAL COUNCILLOR
Shay Cullen, our new local councillor would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported him throughout the election campaign. Shay is honoured to represent our area in the council and he would like to thank the wonderful & amazing people who helped make this a reality for him with a BBQ in Kavanagh’s Pub Roundwood from 6.30pm onwards on Saturday 14th of June. Everyone is welcome and we hope as many of you as possible can make it so please come along so that we can all have an enjoyable evening together.
STORY TELLING
A story telling night will take place in Annamoe Community Centre on Friday the 13 June at 8pm. All are welcome to a very entertaining night.
GET VOCAL
The get vocal choir is made up of older people from all over Wicklow and this year the concert will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Kilruddery House on Sunday 15th June at 4pm. There was no winner of last week’s jackpot. The numbers drawn were 5, 7, 14 and 20. There were seven match three winners, A.B.C.S., Kathleen Martin, Anne Byrne, Ayshea Nolan, Judy Scott, Amanda Smyth & Darren Murphy. Next week’s jackpot will be €8,000.

In the final competition of the season Margaret Bolger and Noeleen Redmond finished their season the way they started in January coming 1st , Elizabeth Belton and Teresa Leahy were 2nd, Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien took 3rd place whilst Mary Pierce and Triona Woodroofe were 4th. 002 Bridge club will resume bridge in September and Triona and Gaye would like to take this opportunity to thank all members and visitors for their continued support and wish all a very good summer break.

ATHLETICS BBQ
Our annual charity BBQ will take place on Wednesday 18th June at The Complex. This year the proceeds will go towards the Áras an Tóchar Building Fund. A fun-filled evening is planned, with obstacle races, relays and races for kids, a Fit for Life Race for our Junior & Senior athletes. Along with the BBQ, we will have face painting, a raffle, spot prizes, and music. Everyone is very welcome to come along for what will be a great night of entertainment, hope to see you there!
