ROUNDWOOD CANCER SUPPORT
We would like to say a big thank you to Aerogen, a Galway based company who have very kindly donated €1,500 euro to Roundwood Cancer Support. They are supporting charities through their employees. Mr. David Lawless from Diamond Hill in Roundwood works for the company. He nominated us to receive this donation. Thank you David. This company manufactures high-performance aerosol drug delivery technology to hospitals and clinics. Their products are used in emergency departments and intensive care units in over 75 countries. We also received a cheque in the sum of €1,644.50. This cheque came from East Coast Radio. A big thank you to them. People are so generous to our cause so please avail of the services.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The society talk is on the 10th May via Zoom, the talk will be presented by Eugene Costello and is entitled: Farmers and the changing face of Ireland’s uplands: historical insights from Wicklow and the West
Eugene delves into the lives of non-elite, ‘forgotten’ members of society and the effect of the long-term marginalisation of the rural communities in Atlantic and Boreal Europe. His has a fascinating take on how the economics of these farmers have affected the wider world.He is currently based in the Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies in Stockholm University. He has gained recognition for his work gathering degrees and honours around Ireland, UK and USA.

PERSONAL ALARM
The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency.
