Date for the diary:- The Sale of Work takes place in the GAA Centre on December 1st

VARIETY NIGHT

A Laragh Variety night will take place next Saturday the 16th November starting at 8.30pm.  A variety of acts including, recital & comedy, story telling & music & drama.  Promises to be a night of great entertainment with a raffle on the night.  €10 admission & all proceeds go to the Senior Citizens Christmas party.  So come along and support a great cause & enjoy the entertaining night.

GOLDEN JUBILEE

To mark the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Church of the Sacred Heart Moneystown, Archbishop Dr. Diarmuid Martin, D.D. will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving there on Sunday November 24th at 11.30 am.  Mass in St Laurence O’Toole Church Roundwood will take place at the earlier time of 10am on that day.

FOLK GROUP

Roundwood Folk Group are on the look-out for a guitarist/musician to help them in the New Year with Saturday night mass.  Very flexible not every Saturday & not a big commitment but very enjoyable.  Please contact Helena on (086) 3000194 if you would like to do it.

BADMINTON

Badminton continues on a Tuesday morning from 9.30a.m  All are welcome.

SECONDARY SCHOOL BADMINTON

A 6 week course begins next Monday 11th Nov at 6 30 in the GAA Centre. All are welcome Rackets are available. Come and enjoy a fun night.  Bring a friend.

PARISH SALE OF WORK

Roundwood And Moneystown Christmas Sale of Work will take place in the GAA complex on Sunday December 1st from 12 – 4pm.  A great day out for all the family with something for everyone.  All good quality donations for the various stalls can be left with Maureen in the Parish Office between 9am and 12.30pm (Mon-Thurs) before November 28th.  In particular we are looking for bottles for the Bottle Stall and home produce for the cake stall.  Come along on the day to visit SANTA and pick up some fantastic festive Christmas gifts.

LUNCH CLUB

A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 22nd November in The Coach House at 1.30pm.  Please let Molly at 0404 45407 or May at 0404 45178 know if you are interested in going

 ROUNDWOOD DANCE

There will be a dance in Roundwood Parish Centre on Friday 15th November with music by John Flood.  All are welcome

SUNSHINE FITNESS

Sunshine Fitness will be starting ‘Baby and Me’, ‘Golden Oldies’ (for aged 65+) and ‘Curvy Whirlies ‘ (for plus size women) fitness classes in the parish hall from September 17th.  Please contact Caitríona on 0876035780 for more information.

WALKING GROUP

Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action meeting at 7pm this Wednesday at the Coach House car park.  All welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately one hour.

FUND RAISER WALK

A fundraiser walk will take place on Saturday 23rd Nov 2019. This is a relaxed guided walk in the hills  to an ancient well called Fraughan’s Well (The Blessed Well) in Trooperstown.  The walk will take in views of Glendalough and include  information on the traditions and rituals of Prechristian and Christian Holy Wells  (approx 120 in Co Wicklow).  Meeting point at Trooperstown Wood Car Park near Laragh 10.45am. Walk is from 11am to 1pm with anyone who has time welcome to Glendalough Green Laragh for tea/coffee afterwards.  Cost/Donation please: €5 to €15 euro to any amount you want to donate. 100% of the funds raised go towards materials to mark and promote public access to these special places. Donations will go towards information plaques and marker stones for two wells in West Wicklow.   A reasonable level of fitness required as some of the walk is uphill.Not suitable for children and no dogs allowed.

The results of the whist is as follows:-  Top Score: Jimmy Molloy; Top Gent: Margaret Kennedy; Second Gent: Kay Plunkett; Top Lady: Catherine Doyle; Second Lady: Marie Magee; First Half: May Kenna; Second Half: Magdaline Kennedy; Longest Sitting: Molly Byrne & Lowest Score: Mary Pierce.  Raffle prizes were won by Monica Brady, Kitty Kennedy, Anne Pierce & Catherine Doyle.  The next whist will be Wednesday 20th November in the Parish Centre

DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB

Margaret Bolger and Paddy O Brien played their cards right on Monday 4th November to take 1st place for North/South, 2nd Kay Plunkett & Claire O Connor and 3rd Catherine McGillycuddy & Gertie Fee.   1st place for East/West went to aria Magee and Judy Skates, 2nd Phil Power and Catherine Halligan and Teresa Leahy & Marian Davis were 3rd.

002 BRIDGE CLUB

Margaret Bolger took 1st place once again this week with regular partner Noeleen Redmond,  2nd John Loscher & Beatrice O Callaghan and 3rd Gertie Fee & Kay Plunkett.  Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien were 1st place winners for East/West, 2nd Catherine McGillycuddy & Nancy O Brien and 3rd Liz Belton and Phil Kenna

MARKET

SET DANCING

Our weekly set dancing sessions continue in Kavanagh’s Lounge on Thursday nights.  All are always welcome – whether you have ever or never danced before  Session starts at 8.30 til 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a goodnight of exercise.

ROUNDWOOD CANCER SUPPORT

The Roundwood Cancer Support Centre is now up and running and is open in the Parish Centre on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am until 1pm & they are currently looking for volunteers if you could spare some time in your week it would be greatly appreciated.  Please feel free to pop in for a chat we will be happy to help.  If anyone needs to make any enquiries outside these hours please telephone our confidential phone number 087 6062072

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8pm for the winter months beginning on the 30th October  Teas served. All are welcome

MEDJUGORJE

A pilgrimage To Medjugorje will take place on October 7th 2020 for seven days at a cost of €679.00 fully inclusive  There will be a discount of €100 if paid in full by December 13th otherwise €200.00 deposit secures booking.  This trip will be accompanied by a Spiritual Director  The accommodation is close to the Church. LOTTO

There was no winner of the lotto jackpot last week.  The numbers drawn were 13, 17, 20 & 27. There was one match three winner, Angelia Ford.  Next week’s jackpot will be €16,600.
