The Vartry Reservoir Official Opening

The Vartry Reservoirs walks will be officially opened on Saturday 9th of June by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at the Upper Reservoir Dam entrance at Knockraheen on the Newtown Road (R765). Please arrive at 3:30pm for the official opening at 4pm. Fun Walk/Run after Official Opening followed by BBQ. Car parking will be available. All members of the community are most welcome with face painting for children.



Moneystown Midsummer Barn Dance and BBQ will take place on 30th June  in Moneystown Community Centre starting at 8pm till late.   Music will now be by Paul Molloy and the Whole Hog.   Fully licensed.


Story house on Friday the 8th June at 8 o’clock & looking forward to seeing everyone there.  Bowling continues on Tuesday nights at 8 o’clock We would love to see new members either ladies or gentlemen so do come  along there is always people to show you how it’s done


A Date for Your Diaries:  Coffee Morning in aid of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young):   Carol Curley will host a coffee morning/Raffle on Friday June 8th in Roundwood Parish Hall.  Please come along for a chat and a cuppa and support this very worthy Charity


Kildare Wicklow ETB are currently advertising for grant funding under the community education programme. The Community Council previously facilitated courses on flower arranging, digital photography, IT and art. If you are interested in these or any other courses in the Roundwood area please email all suggestions welcome.


There will be a pilgrimage to Our Lady’s Island on Sunday 19th August leaving Roundwood at 10a.m. from the Parish Hall.  Cost is €65 per person which includes the bus, scones and dinner.  Money and names to Susan at 087 76273032 before 1st August, 2018.

There was no jackpot winner in last weeks draw.  The numbers drawn were:- 1, 4, 7 & 15.  There were nine match three winners, John Cullen, Paul McKeown, Edd Doyle, Lisa Coughlan, Jasmine Campion, P.J. Kavanagh, Joe Tyndall, Marie Kavanagh & Tanya Kavanagh.  Next weeks jackpot will be €15,400

Not only do the Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group walk for approximately an hour every Wednesday evening, they also have time suss out the progress of the Vartry Walks, have the chat and take a few photos of the fantastic scenery as they go! Some folk walk fast, others slower but the good thing is the group take slightly different routes according to your pace. So no one walks alone & generally all start and finish together! Do come along meeting at 7pm at the Coach House Car Park every Wednesday. All welcome

Adult ceili dancing classes are held every Wednesday night in the parish hall from 8 to 9pm. Learn to solo dance and also group dances under the tuition of Aoife, Cian and Eimear and have great fun learning.
