MASS OF REMEMBRANCE
Our Annual Mass of Remembrance – Service of Light will be on Saturday 4th November at 6.00pm.  This Mass is for Parishioners who died between 15th September 2016 and 14th September 2017 and whose funerals took place from either Roundwood or Moneystown Church

LOURDES PILGRIMAGE
There will be a pilgrimage to Lourdes from Roundwoodin September, 2018.  Names and €200 deposit before 15th January, 2018 to Susan at 087 6273032.  A pilgrimage to Knock will be on Divine Mercy Sunday 8th April, 2018.  More on both pilgrimages at a later date.

MAYO MUSIC WEEK
Please note that the bus for Mayo music week will leave Roundwood Parish Hall on Sunday 22nd October 107 at 9a.m.

JUVENILE HANDBALL TRAINING
Handball training for primary school children resumed on Thursday 12th October 2017 in Annamoe community centre at 6.45pm-7.45pm for children aged 8-12 years. For further information call in on the evening or contact Oliver Donelon on 087 9040535 or Andrew Muldowney on 087 0510104

SALE OF WORK
After a short break the annual SALE OF WORK is back again this year in Aras An Tochar on December 3rd from 12 – 4pm. All donations for the various stalls will be gratefully accepted and can be left with Maureen in the Parish Office between 9.30 and 1pm.

HALLOWEEN CANDLE LIGHT WALK
A family fun Halloween Candle light walk will take place on Sunday 29th October at 5.30pm.  Registration and Start from  Roundwood AFC Clubhouse.  Refreshments available, fancy dress essential,  €10 per family.  This promises to be a fun event so do come along

MATHS LESSONS
Rebecca Delamere will be running Maths classes for Secondary School students in Roundwood Parish Hall.  Classes will be available for 1st to 6th year students and are designed to focus on common areas that students struggle with.  Guaranteed small class sizes and places are limited.  For further information, please contact Rebecca on 0860650129 or RebeccaDelamereMathsLessons@outlook.ie.

CHRISTMAS CAR BOOT BAZAAR
Roundwood Parish Hall will hold a Christmas Car Boot Bazaar on Sunday 12th November from 12 noon to 4pm.  Pick up some great bargains before the Christmas rush.  For further details or to book please contact Ben on 087 9627527

TABLE QUIZ
A date for your diary! – Roundwood Golf Society – Annual Table Quiz Night In aid of Roundwood Senior Citizens Christmas Party will take place in Kavanagh’s Vartry House on Friday 27th October  at 8.30 p.m.  Your support will be appreciated.  Items required for Spot Prizes/Raffle Prizes.  All donations will be gratefully accepted.

WALKING CLUB
The Roundwood Whizzers Walking Group are back in action every Wednesday evening meeting at 7pm at the Coach House car park. Everyone welcome to walk at your own pace for approximately 1 hour in and around Roundwood village

LOTTO RESULTS
There was no winner of this week’s lotto. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 15 & 25  There were five match winners Michael Keogh, C, S E & M Curley, Sharon Keogh, Brendan Molloy & Ciara & Eamo. Next week’s jackpot will be €16,000.

IRISH MUSIC CLASSES
Learn traditional Irish music and dance with an award-winning Comhaltas branch (guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle and grúpa ceoil). Classes are held at 7 pm on Tuesday nights in St. Laurence O’Toole N.S., Roundwood – the first term is from September to January while the second term is from January to May. CAR BOOT

MENS SHED
As per usual the shedders meet every Tuesday from 10 a.m. onwards at Pat Carr’s place in Knockraheen. You will be assured of a very warm welcome if you feel like coming along. At our recently held AGM, Robbie Scott, our most senior member assumed the role of Chairperson. He was the unanimous choice. Because of corporate governance he will have to vacate the chair after three years. Robbie jokingly remarked that he was giving no guarantees that he would be around to fulfill his full term. John Gilmartin agreed to fulfill the role of Treasurer while Arthur Hall continues to fulfill the role of Secretary

Taking 1st place on Friday 6th October for North/South were Monica Brady and June Digby, 2nd Rachel Judd and Molly Byrne, 3rd Marian Davies and Teresa Leahy.   1st East/West Maria Magee and Rowena Brady, 2nd Liz Belton and Phil Kenna and 3rd Miriam Coyle and Kitty Heslin.

Friday 13th was not unlucky for Monica Brady and June Digby as they took 1st place once again for North/South, 2nd Ger Lenihan and Paddy O Brien, 3rd Catherine McGillycuddy and Nancy O Brien.    1st East/West Liz Belton and Phil Kenna, 2nd Rowena Brady and Judy Skates and 3rd Bridie Nolan and Jim Mcnamara.

Diamond Bridge Club.
Playing their cards right on Monday 2nd October for North/South were Nancy O Brien and Monica Brady, 2nd Margaret Byrne and Kay Plunkett, 3rd Clare O Connor and Catherine Halligan.  East/West joint 1st/2nd were Teresa Leahy, Marian Davies and Rachel Judd and Molly Byrne, 3rd Bridie Nolan and Brid Clancy.

Nancy O Brien took 1st place once again on Monday 9th October this time with Phil Power, 2nd Brid Clancy and Catherine Halligan and 3rd Judy and Rowena Brady.  East/west 1st Teresa Leahy and Marian Davies, 2nd Miiriam Coyle and Mary Brown, and 3rd Monica Brady and Paddy O Brien.

Anne-Marie Morris and Maria Magee would like to thank everyone who supported their bridge nights in aid of Strictly and both Roundwood clubs would like to wish them both all the best in the competition on Saturday night, Keep Dancing Girls.

WHIST RESULTS
The results of the whist is as follows:- Top Score: Kay Plunkett; Top Gent: Richie Cullen; Second Gent: Pat Fister; Top Lady: Monica Brady; Second Lady: Mary Pierce; First Half: Magdaline Kennedy; Second Half: Jimmy Molloy; Longest Sitting: Marie Magee & Lowest Score: Martin Byrne.  The raffle prizes were won by: Kitty Kennedy, Margaret Kennedy, Monica Brady, Magdalen Kennedy.  The next whist will be on tonight Wednesday the 25th October in the Parish Centre.

ROUNDWOOD DANCE
The next dance at Roundwood Parish Hall takes place on Friday 27th October with music by John Flood, Refreshments available on the night. Music by the.  All welcome. .

A 45 Card Game takes place every Tuesday night in Moneystown Community Centre starting at a new time of 8.30pm. Teas served. All are welcome.

SET DANCING
Roundwood Set Dancing continues every Thursday night from 9pm til 11pm in Kavanagh’s Lounge, Roundwood.  Music this month with The O’Kane family. Admission remains at €5.  Beginners are always welcome along with anyone looking for a bit of exercise and a fun night out.

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET
Roundwood Home Producers Market is open every Sunday from 12 noon until 5 pm in The Parish Centre. Come for all your fresh bread, home baking, jams etc.  There will also be pictures, home crafts, plants and more. We look forward to seeing you all. New members always welcome
