CHRISTMAS BINGO

Christmas Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday 11th December from 3pm.  Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend.  €5 per book and great raffle prizes.  Come along and enjoy

 

LUNCH CLUB

A reminder that the Active Retirement Christmas Lunch club will take place on Friday 16th December in The Roundwood Inn at 1.30.

 

WHIST

Next whist will be on tonight Wednesday 7th December in The Parish Centre.

 

UNWANTED LAPTOPS

CoderDojo Roundwood are looking for any unwanted laptops or flat computer screens for use in our local Dojo. Any laptops donated, no matter what make or age, will be wiped clean of any data thereon and will be reprogrammed to allow children who may not have access to a laptop learn a new skill in this fun environment.  Any donations to the Roundwood CoderDojo Group will be greatly appreciated. CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

The Christmas tree lights will be turned on at the tree in the grounds of Roundwood Garda Station after mass on Saturday 10th of December (around 7:15pm). So get your Santa hats & Christmas jumpers on, join in the Christmas carol singing to kick off this festive season. There will mulled wine and goodies afterwards in Roundwood Parish Centre.  This is a community event to get the village into the Christmas spirit. Please come along and join the fun! All welcome

 

ROUNDWOOD COUNTRY MARKET

We wish to inform you that our market will be closing on Sunday, December 18th at 5pm and re-opening in the Spring on Sunday, March 19th, 12pm – 5pm.  We want to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for your continued support and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  Best wishes for 2017.

 

YOGA

Yoga classes will resume on Thurs. !9th January in Roundwood Parish Centre.  Class run from 7.30p.m to 9.00p.m for 10 week Course.  Class will include Asana(Physical stretches), Pranayama (Breathing exercises) Relaxation and Meditation.  Course of 10 classes costs 100 euro with a minimum of 50 euro due on first night.

JUVENILE HANDBALL TRAINING

BIATHLON

Our annual Biatlon will take place on Tuesday 27th December.  This is a fantastic fun day for all the family.  The proceeds every year goes to the Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust at St. James’s Hospital and the Centre for Colorectal Disease in St Vincent’s Hospital.  For further information please contact Louise at 0862525860 or Ellen at 0868343286

 

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

Moneystown Dance The Wicklow Man will play in Moneystown Community Centre on Friday 9 December from 9.30 pm till 12. Teas served, refreshments also available,  door prizes.  Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing, jive, etc.

 

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

There will be a dance in Roundwood Parish Centre on Friday 16th December with music by The Wicklow man.

 

COMHALTAS IRISH MUSIC CLASSES

Learn traditional Irish music and dance with an award-winning Comhaltas branch (guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle and grúpa ceoil). Classes are held at 7 pm on Tuesday nights in St. Laurence O’Toole N.S., Roundwood – the first term is from September to January while the second term is from January to May. MENS SHED

Roundwood Men’s Shed continues on Tuesdays between 10 and 12 noon at Pat Carr’s place  in Knockraheen. It’s a Shed within a shed and why not drop along! Even if it’s a cold morning you’re sure of a warm welcome from the lighting stove and from all present. As well as the chat and the sharing and listening, plans are been made for projects and activities. A workshop is available at the shed through the good will of Pat and Matti

 

LOTTO RESULTS

There was yet again no jackpot winner in last weeks lotto draw.  The numbers drawn were 5, 14, 23 &25  There were nine match three winners, Pauline Grant, C & L Dunne, M. Kavanagh, Dermot, K & L Turner, A Reynolds, A Daye, J & S Hamilton & Patricia Carroll  Next weeks jackpot €19,400.

 

GET WALKING

Get Roundwood Walking is a great success so far with an average of 20 walkers every week.  The walks before the Christmas break are from Aras an Tochar at 7pm on Wednesday the 7th and 14th of December. Walkers are encouraged to join in the Christmas Biathlon which is taking place on the 27th of December with walkers leaving from Kavanagh’s Vartry House at 1:45pm. All welcome

ANGEL HEALING

Why not take 2 hours out of your week just for you and join us on a Monday evening at 7.30 in the Parish Hall, Roundwood.  Here you will be part of a group who know that looking after their well being is so important.  You will learn how to meditate and be still. CAR BOOT SALE

The monthly Parish Hall Car Boot Sale takes place on Sunday December 18th.  For Information and Booking please contact Ben 087-9627527 .  Indoor and outdoor spaces available, Booking is essential as limited to 20 tables indoors. Open to stall holders from 10 a.m open to the public from 12 noon to 5 pm. Tables can only be held until 11.30 a.m

 

ADOPT A SPOT

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to adopt a spot. It can be anything from keeping a stretch of road litter free to establishing flower beds – but every single bit helps. There are various categories in the Tidy Towns competition including Built Environment and Streetscape, Landscaping and Open Spaces, Wildlife, Habitats and Natural Amenities, Sustainable Waste and Resource Management, Tidiness and Litter Control, Residential Streets & Housing Areas and Approach Roads, Streets & Lanes so if you have any ideas of ways we can improve our score in these areas please do get in contact by emailing info@roundwood.ie or calling 087 2551579

 

MATHS GRINDS

Rebecca Delamere will be teaching group Maths lessons on a weekly basis in the Parish Hall in Roundwood for secondary school students.  Class sizes will be very small and there will be classes at different levels.  These lessons provide support for students who may be struggling with Maths in school, support for students who are aiming for high grades and also prepare students for their Maths exams.  To reserve a space of for further information, please contact Rebecca on 086 0650129 or rebeccadelameremathslessons@outlook.ie.

SET DANCING

Set Dancing continues every Thursday night in Kavanagh’s Lounge from 9pm til 11pm with music this month by the O’Kane family.  Come along and join us for a night of good fun, great exercise and a very social night out.  Also giving jiving lessons starting on Thurs  at 8.30pmbefore our weekly set dancing session. All are welcome to these lessons.Newcomers always welcome and great way to meet some locals.  Cost for night of dancing and entertainment is still only €5.

Tickets for the Dominican College Wicklow Transition Year Students production of ‘Annie’ are on sale now in Earl’s Newsagent and the Admin Office in DCW. Performances on Wed 14th  Thursday 15th and Friday 16thDecember at 8pm

 

Council Meeting

The Roundwood District and Community Council meeting will take place on Monday the 12th of December in the Roundwood Parish Hall.
