PLOUGHING SOCIETY SYMPATHY

On behalf of the Roundwood Ploughing Society, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Mulligan family on their recent bereavement.  Tom Mulligan was a member for many years an was current President of both the County and Roundwood Ploughing Society. During his time as member he held several positions in the club including secretary for over twenty years.  He also represented Wicklow on numerous occasions at the All Ireland Ploughing Championships.  Since he stopped ploughing himself he remained very much involved by judging in County and National Level, both in the Tractor and Horse Class.  He is very sadly missed especially at this time of year.  May he rest in peace.

The Pied Piper ~ Fab show

panto2

Roundwood Variety Group’s production of the Pied Piper took place recently in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh with four packed out performances. It was great to see such talent among those 39 local children and a dozen or more adults & teenagers, some of which had never graced the stage before. Great credit is due to the musical director, Lindsey Aherne and choreographer Ann McIntyre, to the back stage crew who hauled, constructed and painted those fantastic sets, to the parents and sponsors. A great achievement for Ciara Kennedy, chairperson of Roundwood Variety Group who did a fantastic job in her first year in the role. Ciara was ably assisted by her mum, Ann and a strongly focused committee. Well done all – looking forward to next years performance already.
