ROUNDWOOD 2014 CALENDAR

The last few Roundwood 2014 Calendar are now available for sale at Justine’s, the Roundwood Inn, the Sunday Market in the Parish Hall and in Avonmore Credit Union. It costs just €3.30 to send the calendar to anywhere in the world so why not surprise family and friends this Christmas!

PILGRIMAGE TO MEDJUGORJE

There will be a pilgrimage to Medjugorje on 15th October, 2014 at a cost of €619.  Early booking offers of €150 discount if paid in full by 12th December, €100 discount if paid in full by 3rd February, 2014.  For further information please contact Mary King at 087 2185067

CALARY CAROL SERVICE

The Carol Service in Calary will take place at 7pm on Sunday 22 December. Everyone is invited and the service will be followed by tea and mince pies in the Church Room.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY DINNER

MONEYSTOWN DANCE

The Wicklow man will play in Moneystown community centre on Friday December 13th from 9.30 till 12.  Teas served refreshments available, door prizes and mince pies. Come along and enjoy a night of waltzing, jive, etc.

LUNCH CLUB

The next Roundwood Active Retirement lunch will take place in Byrne and Woods at 1:30pm on Friday the 13th of December.

LADIES GOLF

Djouce Ladies held their end of season lunch recently in The Grange Kitchen. The incoming lady captain for 2014 will be local woman Deirdre Carroll and the club wishes Deirdre every success in her role as club captain. Deirdre announced her vice captain for the new season will be another well known local lady Valerie Brennan. The end of year prizes were awarded, Match Play Winner 18 holes Marian Molloy. Match Play Winner 9 holes Breda Murdock. Medals Final Winner Ann Clarke. The Eileen O Connor Trophy Winner Ann Clarke. Golfer of the year 9 holes Rita Blennerhassett. Golfer of the year 18 holes Margaret Bolger. Thanks to the McGillycuddy family for keeping the course in such great condition all season. It was a fantastic year for golf and any ladies thinking of taking up the game would be more than welcome at the club

FOOD COLLECTION

Cross Care will hold a collection of non-perishable food in both Roundwood and Moneystown churches next week.  Donations can be left in the church porch before or after mass or in the parish centre during the week, Monday to Friday before 12 noon.  The following non-perishable items are urgently needed pasta, rice, fruit juice, tea, coffee, soup, sugar, powdered milk, tinned meat/fish, tinned fruit/veg, packaged desserts, biscuits and hygiene produces (e.g. nappies, toilet rolls, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shower gels shampoo etc).  Thank you all for your generous support last weekend – even one item from each household each week will make a huge difference to families in need.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT CHRISTMAS OUTING

ROUNDWOOD DANCE

On December 20th with music is by the Wicklow Man in The Parish Centre, Roundwood in aid of the Roundwood Active Retirement.

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 6, 15, 24 & 25. There was one match three winner, Fiona Fanning  Next weeks jackpot will be €15,800.
