Roundwood Calendar 2014 Launch

calendar collageThe Roundwood and District Community Council are delighted to announce the launch of the first ever Roundwood Calendar for 2014. The calendar came about as a result of a number of beginners digital camera courses organised by the group with the support of the Community Education Programme of Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board. The exhibitions of the photographs taken by the course participants were so well received by the community that the Community Council decided to produce a calendar with a small selection of the fantastic range of images. The calendar highlights the scenic beauty of Roundwood and its hinterland and also depicts some of the activities, loves and lives of the residents and visitors to the area.

The difficult task of choosing the photos for the calendar was undertaken by course tutor David Stephenson. David’s professionalism and patience brought out the best in the course participants and their photographs. He spent a lot of time working on the calendar and the Community Council are extremely grateful for his contribution. A few extra photos were required and supplied by Jenny Coughlan and Anne Pierce. Roundwood resident, Darren Flynn also kindly allowed the group reproduce some of his photos taken at the Roundwood Festival earlier this year which added greatly to the production.

The Roundwood Calendar will make a great gift this Christmas for family and friends and especially those residents of Roundwood working abroad. The calendar will be on sale at a special price of €5 at its official launch reception in Roundwood Parish Hall and Centre on the 23rd of November at 7:30pm. Lights refreshment will be served, admission free and all are welcome to attend.
