Roundwood Variety Group are pleased to announce their Panto for 2016, The Pied Piper which takes place in the Brockagh Resource Centre Laragh on Friday 29th & Saturday 30th at 8pm, and Matinee on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st at 3pm   Starring the evil Pied Pier, the wicked Rat Queen and her rat filled sewers alongside the handsome hero Hans and his hilarious mother Frau Kinderflapping (the dame!). Roundwood Humpty Dumpty is on a break over the festive period but will be back again in Wednesday 13th January! Roundwood and District Historical Society  has prepared its 1916 Commemoration Centenary Programme, part of which will include a Seminar on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th February in Roundwood Parish Hall & Centre, at which 5 prominent historians and writers will give lectures on different aspects of the events of the 1916 Rising. Those speaking will be Professor Kevin Whelan, Dr Mary McAuliffe, Professor Eunan O’Halpin and Padraig Yeates. This will be followed by a History Ireland Hedge School which will also include Robert Ballagh. A limited number of tickets have been issued for this event and before these go on general sale, they are now available to local people. Annamoe Handball Club AGM

Operation Transformation has landed in Roundwood this new year & is open to anyone living in the area.  You simply pick a leader and weight loss plan to follow from the R.T.E programme and come along to the school for a free and confidential weigh-in every Saturday morning at 9am followed by a family walk.  The weigh-in is for adults but the walk after is for everyone. The school gate will be open so you can park  This is a free event run by the school and the Parents Association which  will run for the duration of the show!!  A great way to get your year off to a super start!!


An 8 week yoga course will commence on Thursday 14th January in Roundwood Parish Centre at 7.30 -9.30 p.m. Cost is 10 euro per class with a commitment of €50 due on first night.  The class will include Asana (Strengthening and stretching exercises),Pranayama (breathing techniques) Relaxation and Meditation.  All are welcome -details Anne-Marie on 086 -8367578


A reminder that the Active Retirement Lunch club will take place on Friday 22nd January, 2016 in The Coach House, Roundwood at 1.30.


There was no jackpot winner in last weeks draw.  The numbers drawn were 7, 11, 15 & 17.  There were nine match three winners, Stella Walsh, Nancy Green, Pat Fitzpatrick, Jill Kavanagh, Pat Molloy, J. Connolly, C Campion, Phyl Cleary & Jenny Byrne.  Next weeks jackpot will be €19,400.
