The next training weekend for new recruits is the 5th and 6th April in the Glendalough Hotel. LADIES GOLF LESSONS

HOME PRODUCERS MARKET

Roundwood Home Producers Market will be re-opening in Roundwood Parish Hall on Sunday, 6th April next 12noon – 5p.m, every Sunday.  Come for your home baking, jams, crafts, vegetables, plants, etc.  New members always welcome. 

ROUNDWOOD HISTORICAL SOCIETY

On Monday 31st March, Archaeologist Chris Corlett will present a lecture entitled “New Thoughts on St Kevin and Glendalough” at 8.30pm, the Old School, Roundwood. All Welcome

JENNY’S PRE- SCHOOL

Enrolments now being taken for September 2014/2015 for Jenny’s pre-school in Moneystown. All Applications to be returned to the Pre- School on or before the 11th April 2014 to ensure your place for September

The Wicklow man will play on Friday 11th April and Tony Davitt will play on Friday 9th May

ANGEL HEALING

Angel Healing takes place every Monday night at 7.30 in the Parish Centre, RoundwoodVillage. It is non denominational. Come along to a night of spiritual connection, relaxation and meditation. For more information contact Mary 087 9819420

LOTTO RESULTS

There was no jackpot winner in last weeks draw.  The numbers drawn were 1, 8, 13 & 14.  There were four match four winners, Christine Dunleavey, Margaret Kennedy, Billy Meagher & Christine.  Next weeks jackpot will be €19,400.

BADMINTON

Morning Badminton continues every Tuesday from 9.30 until 11am for anyone who would like to join us. Beginners are always welcome as are improvers and those who just want to play! Congratulations to all those who took part in the Wicklow championships, the finals of which were held last sat night in Roundwood and the triumphant morning players were Marion, Gill, Mary, Paddy and Ger. Hard to believe 2 years ago some of these had never stood on a badminton court let alone reach a final so well done to all of you

ATHLETICS

All Ireland Glory!!! Congratulations to Eve Leacy who won the silver medal in the under 12 High Jump at the All-Ireland Indoor Championships in Athlone at the weekend. What a fantastic performance!  Also congratulations to Rebecca Molloy and Sean Leacey who were placed 5th and 6th respectively in the under 13 High Jump, well done on achieving such a high standard in this All-Ireland Championship.  Well done to club coaches Michael Heatley who competed in the 50km Wicklow Way Ultra yesterday and Brendan Lawlor who did the 25km Wicklow Way Trail.

WHIST

The results of the whist is as follows-  Top Score: Tom McHugh; First Gent: Ann Wolohan; Second Gent: Richie Cullen; Top Lady: Patricia Byrne; Second Lady: May Kenna; First Half: Maura McHugh; Second Half: Paddy O’Brien; Lowest Score: Kitty Kennedy & Longest Sitting: Kay Plunkett;  Raffle prizes were won by Paddy O’Brien, Tom McHugh, Ann Pierce, Mary Cullen & Ann Wolohan.  The next whist will be on Wednesday 2nd April 2014.

PILATES

Anne Sexton PilatesClass on Thursdays at 12 noon – Mobility and Posture for the Older Adult.  Call in and have a chat with Anne and try it out!  Also, Boxercise – new class on a Friday night at 8 pm.  €10 for adult, €6 for students and unwaged.

FAMILY CEILI

Feel like you missed out on doing something Irish for St Patrick’s Day? Why not come and join us for our fun family Ceili in Annamoe centre next Friday 28 March and catch up on the Irish dancing you missed. All are welcome from the youngest to the oldest starting at at 8pm.

SET DANCING

Set dancing in Kavanagh’s lounge every Thursday night with music this week by CDs and by Michael and Brian for the remainder of the month.  Lessons before hand at 8.30 with session from 9pm until 11. Love if you could join us on the dance floor for a night of fun and lively banter

HUMPTY DUMPTY PLAY GROUP

The Cuidiu Humpty Dumpty Playgroup meets every Wednesday from 10 – 11.30 am in the Parish Hall.  All pre-school children are welcome.  Bring along your Parent or Minder & they can have tea and a chat while you play!

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

A Photography Exhibition by those who recently took part in the Kildare Wicklow Education and Training Board funded beginners digital camera course will officially open at 7:30pm on Friday 4th of April in Roundwood Parish Hall and Centre. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.   Should you miss the official opening, the exhibition will be open for viewing on Saturday the 5th of April and Sunday the 6th of April at times to be confirmed.

KNOCK

S.M.A. pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Saturday 24th May leaving Laragh at 7a.m, Roundwood at 7.30a.m. Bus, breakfast and dinner €50 per person.  All money to be paid before 1st May, 2014.  All enquiries to 0404 45276.

GETAWAYS

There will be two day trips, a tour of Semple Staduim and Holy Cross Abbey on 3rd May leaving Roundwood at 8a.m. at a cost of €65 per person and a trip to Suir Valley railway line between Waterford and Dungarvan and Garden Bord Bia, the Arbortium which has lovely plants and shrubs which will take place on Saturday 5th July at a cost of €65 per person.  Tea, scones, evening meal and bus included in the price, leaves at 9a.m.  Contact 0404 45276 before 1st April.  A three night trip to Iceland going on 23rd October.  Total cost €599.  Deposit of €200 to be paid before 1st July.  All enquiries to 0404 45276

KILMAC HISTORY SOCIETY

Kilmacanogue History Society will Dermot Cranny will present an illustrated talk reviewing the concept and structure of the Medieval Guilds System and relate the guilds to their modern equivalents in the Glenview Hotel on Tuesday 1st April, 2014.  Dermot Cranny served a recognized apprenticeship and is a qualified Craftsman who also holds a Masters Degree in Education.  Together with his wife Ann they are hardworking valued members of our Society.
